DIAGNOSTICS

Our in-house laboratory allows us to perform many types of testing that can aid in the
diagnosis and treatment of your pet. Our state-of-the-art, in-house laboratory
equipment allows us to diagnose your pet 24 hours a day in most cases with results
available within 10 – 30 minutes. Diagnostic equipment available at our clinic:

ENDOSCOPY

Endoscopy is the use of specialized video cameras to evaluate areas within the body in a minimally, invasive manner. This procedure allows us to take samples [biopsies] for histopathology.

At Bakenkop Animal Clinic we have three endoscopes:

• A rigid endoscope for nasal passages and ear canals.
• A bronchoscope for examination of the airways and lungs.
• A flexible scope for the esophagus, stomach, and intestine.

Endoscopy can only be performed under general anesthesia.
